Had a chance to go flying yesterday and was able to get in a couple of hours.  I made a minor change on the pitot tube and it made a big difference.  I have it mounted on the stall warnner inspection cover and been told might be in the prop wash.  It's actually to the right of the stall warnner and has been reading low from day one.  The problem wasn't location, it was the 1/4" aluminum tubing.  When I cut the tubing I failed to clean up the hole.  Once I cleaned up the hole it gave me a larger hole and my indicated air speed increased drastically.

I landed at three of the local airports in north Georgia.  At Pickens County there were eight old timers hanging around.  The sound and look of my plane got there attention. Lots of question about a Honda engine in an airplane.  When I got ready to depart I got on the radio and told them to watch my take-off.  I used one click of flaps which I normally don't do and I also had a 5 mph head wind.  Man,what a take-off.

As soon as I took off the feed back on the radio was, was it 100 ft. or 150 ft.  By the time I got to mid field I was at 1,000 agl over the terminal shack.  Tilted wings and headed home.  Sure was fun and gave the old timers something to talk about.
