Had a chance to go flying yesterday and was able to get in a couple of hours. I made a minor change on the pitot tube and it made a big difference. I have it mounted on the stall warnner inspection…Continue

While helping Jan out at Sebring last week we introduced a marketing program that generated a lot of activity. If you total up Vans air frame kits you come up with a figure of $21,750.00. That is…Continue

I forgot to mention that all my take-offs were without flaps. My next test will be at 7500 msl with a 15 degree pitch. As this is a thinner prop. the high altitude may have an effect on the…Continue

I had a chance to fly the Viking RV N97HV for about four hours the past two days. Warp Drive sent me a high profile prop for testing on my RV. It is a 68" diameter ground adjustable. I started…Continue

Flew the RV12 Viking for 2.1 hours today. Started out with a pitch of 13.5 degrees. Ran full throttle at an average of 5,600 RPM going North, South East West for about three minutes in each direction. I flew until there was no longer an increase in speed. Averaged altitude was 5,100 MSL. All speed were recorded in each direction and average out to 135.5 MPH. Coolant temp stayed around 200 degrees f.
Ran second test with a pitch of 15 degrees. RPM averaged out to 5,300. …

Brenda: Use the existing 1/4 return you installed going to the fuel tank. You shorten the forward line in the cockpit area and connect it to the manifold. If you can email me at russra@windstream.net. Its easier than trying to go through 12 town every time I email. Ron

Before flying today I took two 5 gallon fuel containers to my local Kroger fuel station. Got my .03 discount and purchased 10 gallons at $3.17 for 87 ethanol. Topped off airplane and prepared to fly. Takeoff is always exciting as by the time I have full throttle I'm in the air. I love it when I look down at the terminal about 250 feet above it and look at the guys standing outside watching and listing to my takeoff. Its very quiet. I cruised over five of the local airports at 4500 msl…

I just got back from CZL after flying the RV12 Honda Viking for 1.8 hours. The fuel line going from the fuel manifold to the engine is under high pressure, about 45 PSI. The fuel injection line is 5/16 and purchased from local auto store. Fuel injection requires high pressure from the pumps to the engine. You have two clear plastic fuel filters which take low fuel pressure before the fuel pump. There is a high pressure fuel filter just before the fuel enters the engine. The Rotax…
ContinueRon, I have been following your progress with the Viking engine installation on VAF. Too bad about the lack of civility by some of the posters there.
I too am interested in the Viking and look forward to learning of your progress.
