"I too dreaded bending that neck to a compound curve, but I got it right in ony a couple trys, beginners luck I suppose.  I put nutplates on the filler neck so it becomes a one man operation to put it on or take it off."

Fuel Filler Neck

I've been wrestling with the proper alignment of the fuel neck flange to the right turtle deck skin and so far, I haven't made much progress. The instructions tell you to bend the flange of the filler neck until it fits flush against the inside of the skin before prosealing it in place. The problem is, I can't get the flange bent so that it's acceptably flush.
