Flew the RV12 Viking for 2.1 hours today.  Started out with a pitch of 13.5 degrees.  Ran full throttle at an average of 5,600 RPM going North, South  East West for about three minutes in each direction.  I flew until there was no longer an increase in speed.  Averaged altitude was 5,100 MSL.  All speed were recorded in each direction and average out to 135.5 MPH.  Coolant temp stayed around 200 degrees f.

Ran second test with a pitch of 15 degrees.  RPM averaged out to 5,300.  Altitude was 5,000 MSL.  Average speed was 132.75 MPH..   Coolant temperature ran up to 220 degrees.

There was very little difference in takeoff with each pitch change.  Both around 350-400 Ft.  No flaps.

Tomorrow ,I will do another test at 14 degrees.    Went through less than a half a tank of 87 ethanol.  Had a great time.

Looking forward to tomorrows test.     Ron Russ
